Life at School In Ballarat!

Sovereign Hill where do  I start it was just amazing I can’t decide what part was my favourite   part because it was just so good. How about I start with the school. School in fact Red Hill National School fun strict and entertaining. It was super funny when the inspector came in and intimidated Leo in front of the class.

On the first day we had 2 mine tours that were amazing the first one we had was called the secret chamber we went down in a tram sought of thing except it didn’t have seat belts and it was dark also we went down like 400 meters it was pretty scary but we all made it down. We  learnt about the Chinese life on the diggings and down the mine shafts apparently the Chinese actually found quite a lot of gold. The second mine tour we had to walk down stairs in stead of a tram thing and we were in the dark as well.

Some of the emotions I felt were a little bit scared when going down the Secret Chamber, I was amazed when we saw aura and all the lights.

One of the most fun things was shopping so as sone as we got our $25 we all sprinted to the lollie shop to get raspberry drops!

Some of the PLA that I showed when we were on camp were resilience because when we were in our cabins and we were trying to get to sleep and people were talking. Another PLA that I showed was communication because I needed help.

What was your favourite camp you’ve been on so far?

Carey Celebrates Literature

My favourite part of the festival was when we went to the lunch time festival with our buddies because we had a lot of fun when we did the treasure hunt with our  buddies it turns out that our buddies were very good at the treasure hunt because they found most of the books. Another part of the  Carey celebrates literature was just looking around and seeing smiles on everyone’s faces.

I learnt how to draw with any shape you wanted and he taught us a lot of history and how he wrote his books and the history with his dad and how he was in the army. Mark Wilson was a really great experience to see and how he was. I have never seen a illustrator and author before.

What was your favourite part of Carey celebrates literature?

Year 5 market update

Year 5 market

This term the year 5’s have been concentrating really hard to finish making our products for the year 5 market my group has been making pillows, bracelets ,Harry Potter wands and some secret books everyone in our group has been contributing equally. I am really happy with the products that we have made I think they look great. Some of the challenges we have faced were arguing about how much the products cost and how much we are spending on the products. We have used resilience because we had hardly had any products made and now we have so many.

This year the James macredy bryan foundation family are coming to the market and many James.

I am really happy with our contribution and we are all helping on the weekend. The shoutout in my group goes to scarlet because she made all the pillows while she was sick and that takes a lot of courage to do when you are sick thanks scarlet.

We still have to make some more bracelets and some wands other wise I think we are all good.

How is your group going?

Out of my mind reflection

Out of my mind is a novel by Sharon Draper about Melody Brooks. Melody is a 11 year old female who has cerebral palsy and goes to Spaulding Street Elementary school and she never feels like she fits in. When Melody starts 5th grade she meets a “normal”girl in Melody’s inclusion classes her name is rose will rose betray Melody will they become enemies or will they be best friends?

Melody is 11 years old and has to fight through tough challenges and show resilience and communication a lot because Melody can’t talk so she has to use a communication device so that she can communicate with other people. Resilience is a big part in this story because she has to face challenges and be brave.

Sharon Draper is a great author because she drops clues when you don’t even know. She also writes the whole book in first person and the whole book uses heaps of similes and metaphors . I really like out of my mind because when you read the title you wouldn’t think it was about Melody because it has a fish on the front cover.

Out of my mind is a page turner and gripping story and is a must read by the time you finish junior school.

Term 1

this term went really quickly for me this is my first term at Carey and it was great some of the highlights so far have been house swimming because my house came first and in my individual races I came first in all of them. Another highlight has been aps and getting our buddies my buddie is called Ella and she has a sister.aps has been a highlight because in rock climbing I got to the top of the wall.

something I have learnt is doing division with the bus stop method and doing division with decimals. before I came to Carey I couldn’t even do division that well and I am really proud of myself.

my goals this year are to learn all of my times tables and to get better at giving things a go and putting my hand up more in class

some of the positive learner attributes I have shone are resilience because when I was doing division I never gave up and just kept trying I have also shone courage.
